Job description

CNC Operator

Location: Youngstown, OH

Hours: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift available, preference given to candidates with open availability.

Pay: $20/hour

This is a contract to hire position.

Description:

Set up, operate, or tend CNC machines to mill, plane, shape, groove, or profile metal or plastic workpieces.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all assigned machine shop operations
• Regularly conduct milling, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing, and sanding tasks
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee
• Remove workpieces from machines and verify conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as microscopes, gauges, calipers, and micrometers
• Move cutters or materials manually or via automatic feeding mechanisms to mill workpieces to specifications
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment following safety and cleanliness standards
• Inspect machined products and document results
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous CNC operator experience
• Familiarity with using micrometers and calipers
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Willingness to learn and become proficient in operating relevant equipment
• Attention to quality and detail
• Excellent mathematical skills
