Job summary

Independence Tooling is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist to join the team in Michigan. The role involves setting up and operating mills or CNC machines, studying blueprints, and developing CAM programs to optimize manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with CNC machining and programming, with familiarity across Tarus 3+2, 5-axis Doosan or Hermle systems, and multiple controller platforms (Fanuc, Haas, Fidia, Heidenhain).

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC machining and programming.
• Experience running Tarus 3+2 and/or 5 axis Doosan (DN) or Hermle preferred.
• Programming experience in WorkNC
• Familiar with the 5 Axis modules as well
• Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, Fidia & Heidenhain controllers

Responsibilities

• Produce machined parts by setting up and operating a mill and/or CNC machine.
• Plan machining by studying work orders and blueprints.
• Set up mills by tramming/indicating vices and/or work material.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
• Review 3D CAD design
• Determine steps for programming including where materials should be cut
• Convert instructions into a CAM program
• Determine job order and perform associated calculations
• Compose programs and revise existing ones for increased efficiency

• Plan machining by studying work orders and blueprints
• Set up mills by tramming/indicating vices and/or work material
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs
• Review 3D CAD design

• Determine job order and perform associated calculations
