Job summary

Aalo Atomics, based in Austin, TX, is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to support precision component fabrication for a nuclear environment compliant with ASME NQA-1. You will create CNC programs, set up and run mills and lathes, and ensure strict documentation and traceability.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree preferred.
  • 4–6 years CNC programming and precision machining in regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in multi-axis CNC programming and operation of mills, lathes, and mill-turns.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T.
  • Strong metrology, inspection techniques, and tooling selection knowledge.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required due to nuclear facility access.

  • Strictly follow NQA-1 controlled work packages, travelers, and manufacturing procedures with full material traceability and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to resolve technical issues and optimize processes.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to support the machining of precision components. You will develop CNC programs and perform precision machining in a strictly regulated nuclear environment fully compliant with ASME NQA-1 Quality Assurance requirements. You will own the creation of the part from program creation through delivery to the manufacturing line. This role demands strong technical expertise in programming, machining, and quality combined with rigorous attention to detail, documentation, and nuclear safety standards.

How You’ll Contribute
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for mills, lathes, and other equipment to fabricate reactor components.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate, associate degree, or formal apprenticeship in CNC programming/machining strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of combined experience in CNC programming and precision machining in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multi-axis CNC programming and hands-on operation of CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turns.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T.
  • Solid understanding of precision metrology, inspection techniques, and tooling selection.
  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation skills, and commitment to procedural compliance.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (required due to nuclear facility access and export controls).
