Job summary

Aalo Atomics, based in Austin, TX, is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to support precision component fabrication for a nuclear environment compliant with ASME NQA-1. You will create CNC programs, set up and run mills and lathes, and ensure strict documentation and traceability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree preferred.
• 4–6 years CNC programming and precision machining in regulated manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in multi-axis CNC programming and operation of mills, lathes, and mill-turns.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T.
• Strong metrology, inspection techniques, and tooling selection knowledge.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required due to nuclear facility access.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for mills, lathes, and other equipment to fabricate reactor components.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot manual and CNC machining equipment while working with nuclear-grade materials.
• Select, design, and develop tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies to produce compliant parts while maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
• Perform first article and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to verify part conformance.
• Strictly follow NQA-1 controlled work packages, travelers, and manufacturing procedures with full material traceability and documentation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to resolve technical issues and optimize processes.
