Job summary

Barton Staffing Solutions, Inc. in Illinois is seeking a skilled Programmer/Lathe Operator for a direct-hire, 1st shift role.

Starting at $22/hr+ based on experience; 10-12 hour shifts with a 3:00am or 5:00am start; significant overtime available, including Saturdays three times a month. You will read complex drawings, program G-Code and CNC lathe/mill programs using MasterCam, and operate and set up CNC and manual machines.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret complex drawings and blueprints for machining operations.
• Program G-Code and develop CNC lathe/mill programs using MasterCam.
• Operate and set up CNC and manual machines in the shop.
• Understand tooling concepts and select appropriate tooling for operations.
• Support scheduling of CNC machines and operator assignments when needed.
• Review internal reports including scheduling spreadsheets and backlog data.
• Assist the Machine Shop Supervisor with special projects and safety reviews.
• Perform direct labor and other tasks to support department operations.

Programmer / Lathe Operator – Direct Hire (1st Shift)

Starting at $22/hr+ Based on Experience. Schedule: 10-12 hr. shifts with a 3:00am or 5:00am Start. Significant Overtime Available – must be able to work 10-12 hour days, along with Saturdays 3 times a month.

We are seeking a skilled Programmer/Lathe Operator to join our Machine Shop team on a direct-hire basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex drawings and blueprints for machining operations.
• Program G-Code and develop CNC lathe/mill programs using MasterCam.
• Operate and set up most CNC and manual machines within the shop.
• Understand tooling concepts and select appropriate tooling for machining operations.
• Support scheduling of CNC machines and operator assignments when needed.
• Review and interpret internal reports including scheduling spreadsheets, backlog reports, and Guardian system data.
• Assist the Machine Shop Supervisor with special projects such as:
  • 3PM crash protection software
  • Renishaw probing
  • New and trial tooling initiatives
• Participate in safety and incident review meetings as required.
• Perform direct labor and other tasks as needed to support department operations.
