Job description

Position: CNC Programmer II

Responsible for creating and maintaining CNC programs that produce complex parts to precise tolerances across a range of machining centers. This role supports the company’s safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives and requires compliance with AS9100 and NADCAP standards.

Responsibilities
  • Write CNC programs for horizontal machining centers, including macro, subprogram and variable programming.
  • Program 4‑axis, 5‑axis and Y‑axis lathes as well as small and large vertical machining centers to meet tight tolerances.
  • Participate in Kaizen activities such as SMDE, VSM and 5S initiatives.
  • Maintain the program library, ensuring revisions comply with NADCAP requirements.
  • Assist shop associates with uploading and downloading programs and managing program storage.
  • Report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager as a non‑exempt hourly technical position.
Qualifications
  • Eligible under U.S. export control laws (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, Permanent Resident, asylum seeker, refugee, or eligible under a license).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred; alternatively, 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial technical role involving CNC programming.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in data extraction, analysis and decision‑making.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills: CAD/CAM (Esprit, SolidWorks, MasterCam), word processing, graphics, spreadsheets.
  • Specific skills in G and M code editing, macro‑style programming, multi‑axis functions and Fanuc, Okuma or Mitsubishi CELOS controllers.
  • Demonstrated time and project management proficiency.
  • Self‑starter capable of working with minimal supervision and influencing others without authority.
