Job summary

TSC Consultants Inc in Cleveland, OH, is seeking skilled CNC Programmers to generate programs and setup instructions for CNC Horizontal, Vertical Milling, and Turning machines, using MasterCam or GibbsCam. The role requires extensive hands-on experience in high-precision machining.

You will collaborate with estimators on quotes and BOMs, review RFQs and drawings, optimize tooling and cycle times, and provide training and mentoring to operators. This position is on-site with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in a high-precision machining environment.
  • Proficient with CAD/CAM software including MasterCam and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Ability to independently set up CNC machines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Generate CNC Programs for Horizontal, Vertical Milling, and Turning machines.
  • Provide tooling and setup instructions and ensure accuracy.
  • Participate in estimating, quotes, BOMs and routing.
  • Review RFQs and drawings to determine material requirements and process.
  • Create quote packages from costs and tooling.
  • Run short production to meet ship dates.
  • Optimize tooling to improve cycle times.
  • Support repeat production setups.
  • Maintain programs in the Engineering Library.
  • Assist with operator training and mentoring.
  • Assist with cost and process improvement efforts.

Our client a global precision parts manufacturer has an immediate need for the following

We are currently seeking skilled CNC Programmers for various shifts. Compensation is very competitive.

POSITION SUMMARY

Generate CNC Programs & Setup instructions for CNC Horizontal, Vertical Milling Machines, and/or Turning Machines using MasterCam Programming System. Alternative Programming Systems include GibbsCam

Essential Responsibilities
  • Generate CNC Programs for various Horizontal, Vertical, Laser and/or Turning Machines;
  • Provide detailed tooling and setup instructions and insure accuracy;
  • Participate with estimating, entering quotes, building B.O.M. and routing;
  • Reviews customer RFQ’s, specification drawings and other documentation to determine material requirements, processing and job routing;
  • Consolidates all outside and internal costs associated with process time in machining, finishing and QC to create detailed quote packages for final review and presentation to customer;
  • Run short production on machines as needed to meet customer ship dates and critical project schedules;
  • Optimize tooling and programs when possible to improve cycle times;
  • Provide setup and programming support for repeat productions;
  • Participate in up keep of program in Engineering Library;
  • Assist with operator training and mentoring;
  • Assist with cost/process improvement efforts;
  • Insure tooling is selected and ordered within the scope of our tool standardization program;
  • Generate models and CMC shop drawings with CAD Software;
  • Be willing to work off peak hours when necessary;
  • Ability to design and build fixturing with minimal supervision from Machining/Setup lead personnel;
  • Supporting Project Management;
  • Serve as the manufacturing lead on new projects and meet required deadlines;
  • Adhere to Employee’s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus’ Health & Safety Policy.
Additional Skills & Responsibilities
  • 10 plus years of experience in a high-precision machining environment; Previous relevant experience preferred;
  • Must be proficient with Autodesk Inventor, MasterCam Programming System and/or other CAD software, capable of learning specialized software i.e. SMP;
  • Must have an understanding of machine set-up required; Solid machining skill set with the ability to independently set-up CNC machines preferred;
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills required;
  • Strong computer skills, understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required;
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds;
  • Must be available to work overtime as required to meet customer or OTD driven deadlines;
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold and/or noisy areas);
  • Frequent hand to finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing
