Job summary

EnerStaff LLC is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer for a temp-to-hire role in Houston, TX. The position focuses on developing and maintaining CNC programs to support a high-mix, low- to medium-volume operation using Edgecam, spanning 4-axis lathes and vertical/horizontal mills.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of production CNC programming experience, strong Edgecam skills, and hands-on machining background. Strong GD&T interpretation and ERP routing experience are required.

Qualifications

5+ years of CNC programming experience in a production manufacturing environment.
Strong Edgecam programming experience.
Experience programming 4-axis CNC lathes, vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Experience working with CNC controls (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Mori Seiki).
Experience maintaining machining routers within JD Edwards or a similar ERP system.
Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
Prior hands-on machinist experience required.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain CNC programs using Edgecam for 4-axis lathes and CNC mills.
Lead first-piece prove-outs and validate setup and cycle times.
Optimize feeds, speeds, and tooling strategies.
Support machinists during setup and troubleshoot machining issues.
Maintain consistent, repeatable machining processes.
Update machining instructions through the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process when required.
Improve cycle time consistency and reduce scrap.
