Job summary

SunSteel in Sunnyside, WA, seeks an experienced CNC programmer for structural steel production. You'll program CNC machines from work orders, verify drawings, and prepare cut-lists for production and inventory control.

You will use AutoCAD and SIGMA Nesting, check dimensions, post changes, and support operators in troubleshooting. A two-year drafting background and technical schooling are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent or certification from trade/technical school.
• Two years drafting experience in structural steel or related fields; or equivalent.
• AutoCAD 2006 knowledge; proficiency in Excel/Word.
• Experience with Oracle, SPM and SIGMA Nesting III preferred.
• Good math skills; ability to work with metric and standard systems.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, drawings/blueprints.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate with customers.
• Bi-lingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Program CNC machines from work orders.
• Verify accuracy of drawings and prepare cut-lists for production.
• Post changes to control records and notify production departments.
• Troubleshoot equipment and confer with manufacturers to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate job files and inventory-related data.
• Assist operators in troubleshooting and operations.
