Job summary

Schivo Medical on Long Island is seeking a CNC Programmer to set up and program CNC milling operations for multiple machines, including Okuma, Bridgeport, and Mori Seiki. The role covers developing machining processes for new projects and ensuring efficient, capable output for production teams.

The candidate will train operators on new setups, update programs, and apply lean manufacturing techniques to maintain quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/trade school certification is required.
• At least 3 years of CNC milling set-up experience.
• In-house training or trade school plus minimum 2 years programming experience.

Overview

Program and Set-Up various CNC milling machines(Okuma, Bridgeport & Mori Seiki)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Program and set up CNC Milling machines.
• Develop CNC machining process for new projects.
• Maintain effectiveness and efficiency.
• Apply the best strategy and techniques to obtain the most efficient and capable process.
• Selecting appropriate cutting tools and work-holding tools for new projects
• Provide training for machine operators for each new set up/process.
• Update and modify outdated programs, implement the latest cutting techniques, and understanding of lean manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot minor machine errors, program errors.
• Maintain quality and safety control standards.
• Successfully pass First piece inspection and deliver capable process to production team.
• Effectively work with other departments to achieve the common goal

Necessary Education, Skills, and Competencies (including licensing and certifications):

• High school diploma or GED/trade school certification
• 3 years’ set up experience in house or previous employer.
• Programming: in-house training and trade school or minimum 2 years programming experience.
• CNC Milling Machines experience .
• In-house QSP training
• CAD/CAM (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
