Job summary

Schivo Medical in Plainview, NY is seeking an experienced CNC Repair Mechanic to repair and maintain CNC machinery, including Tornos Deco2000 machines, for medical components. The role requires strong multi-craft skills in mechanical and electrical systems and a commitment to a clean, safe work environment.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of field experience in CNC repair, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLCs, with a high school diploma or GED and a related technical degree

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance or related 2-year degree preferred.
• 5+ years field knowledge as a multi-craft technician in CNC repair, mechanics, industrial electrical systems, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain complex CNC machinery and related equipment for manufacturing components.
• Change ball screws, guide rails, align spindles using indicators.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform repairs on production equipment including circuit boards.
• Initiate repairs as part of Continuous Improvement and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and assist with shop maintenance and safety systems.

CNC Repair Mechanic job overview:

The Service Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining complex CNC machinery and mechanical / electrical equipment for manufacturing medical and firearm components for Swiss Screw Torno machines.

CNC Repair Mechanic Essential Duties and responsibilities:

• Must be able to change ball screws, guide rails, and align spindles using indicators.
• Trouble shoot issues & perform all repair, modifications, adjustments, and preventive/predictive and routine maintenance on production equipment- CNC machines (i.e., Tornos Deco2000)
• Troubleshoot issues and repair failures of production equipment. Electrical Repairs and / or replacement of control devices, including circuit boards and memory devices Assist Operation with analyzing deviations and definition of machine related corrective actions.
• Initiate repairs and modifications as a function of Continuous Improvement and process stability (e.g., 5S and Preventive Maintenance).
• Control spare parts inventory stock Support all aspects of building maintenance/routine shop preventive maintenance as needed. Monitor and maintain environmental, health and safety equipment and systems for both production and non-production equipment as directed.
• Repair CNC and maintain Tornos Swiss Screw machines.

CNC Repair Mechanic Education and skills Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance or similar 2-year technical degree in a related field preferred not required. 5+ years field knowledge as a multi-craft technician in the following fields: CNC Repair, Mechanics, Industrial Electrical systems, Electronics, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and PLC. Strong repair background.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings (e.g., blueprints, manuals, wiring diagrams etc.)

Must be able to work in a team environment.
