Job summary

Schivo Medical is seeking a CNC Programmer to set up milling machines in Plainview, NY. The role involves programming and setting up Okuma, Bridgeport, and Mori Seiki milling centers to create efficient, capable processes.

You will select tools, train operators, and ensure lean manufacturing standards. A high school diploma and 3 years of setup or 2 years programming experience are required, with in-house QSP training and CAD/CAM skills valued.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ set up experience in house or previous employer.
• Programming: in-house training and trade school or minimum 2 years programming experience.
• In-house QSP training.

Responsibilities

• Program and set up CNC Milling machines.
• Develop CNC machining process for new projects.
• Maintain effectiveness and efficiency of processes.
• Select cutting tools and work-holding tools for new projects.
• Provide training for machine operators for each new set up/process.
• Update and modify outdated programs and apply latest cutting techniques.
• Maintain quality and safety control standards.
• Pass First piece inspection and deliver capable process to production team.

CNC Programmer and Set Job Overview:

Program and Set-Up various CNC milling machines(Okuma, Bridgeport & Mori Seiki)

• Program and set up CNC Milling machines.
• Develop CNC machining process for new projects.
• Maintain effectiveness and efficiency.
• Apply the best strategy and techniques to obtain the most efficient and capable process.
• Selecting appropriate cutting tools and work-holding tools for new projects
• Provide training for machine operators for each new set up/process.
• Update and modify outdated programs, implement the latest cutting techniques, and understanding of lean manufacturing.
• Maintain quality and safety control standards.
• Successfully pass First piece inspection and deliver capable process to production team.
• Effectively work with other departments to achieve the common goal

Necessary Education, Skills, and Competencies (including licensing and certifications):
