Schivo Medical, a state-of-the-art manufacturing company on Long Island, seeks a CNC Programmer and Setup Person for milling machines in Plainview, NY. The role entails programming and setting up CNC mills (Okuma, Bridgeport, Mori Seiki) and developing new machining processes to improve efficiency.

You will train operators, update programs, apply lean techniques, and ensure quality and safety standards are met, delivering first-piece capability to production and collaborating with other

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/trade school certification.
• 3 years’ CNC set up experience in house or previous employer.
• Programming experience or in-house training.
• In-house QSP training.
• CAD/CAM experience with SolidWorks/AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Program and set up CNC milling machines (Okuma, Bridgeport, Mori Seiki).
• Develop CNC machining processes for new projects.
• Maintain efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
• Apply best strategies to obtain efficient and capable processes.
• Select cutting tools and work-holding tools for new projects.
• Provide training for machine operators for each new setup/process.
• Update and modify programs; implement latest cutting techniques; lean manufacturing.
• Maintain quality and safety control standards.
• Pass first piece inspection and deliver capable process to production.
• Collaborate with other departments to achieve goals.
