Job summary

University of Dayton seeks an experienced CNC Programmer to provide advanced machining expertise for R&D of Technical Data Packages (TDP) for mission-critical components. You will define, post, and optimize programs for 5-axis machines, develop setup sheets, and maintain tooling while collaborating with engineers to solve advanced manufacturing challenges.

Required 8+ years experience in machining/programming or 10 years, MasterCam proficiency, GD&T, G-code mastery, and aerospace material

Qualifications

• Associate degree in technical field plus 8 years of related experience or 10 years machining/programming experience.
• Minimum 5 years using MasterCam CAM software for CNC programming.
• Minimum 1 year programming for turning and mill-turn operations, including 7-axis machines.
• Thorough understanding of G-code for machining operations.
• Thorough understanding of GD&T.
• Experience with aerospace materials.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 certifications and methodology.
• MS Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Post CNC programs for 5-axis machines and multi-axis lathes.
• Create and manage setup sheets, machining work instructions, and tool lists.
• Communicate process improvement opportunities for post-processing activities.
• Maintain tooling log and order tooling/materials as required.
• Collaborate with machinists to resolve complex manufacturing problems.
• Evaluate next-generation technology related to manufacturing and CNC programming.
• Adhere to existing CNC programming processes with Process Engineering support.
• Travel to customer sites, offices, or job locations as needed.
