Job summary

Amsted Automotive in Shelby Township, MI is seeking a CNC Programmer (3rd Shift) to join TransForm Automotive, an Amsted company. This role focuses on programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC machining processes on a night shift, with a 15% shift premium.

You’ll help drive improvements and support new product launches in a collaborative, employee-owned environment. The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED and hands-on CNC programming and machining experience, plus knowledge

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
Experience in CNC programming and machining essential.
Familiarity with tooling, work holding, machine troubleshooting, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

Programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC machining operations.
Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Training Team Leaders on machine setup, tooling, troubleshooting, and program adjustments.
Supporting new product launches from setup through first-piece approval.
Collaborating with Engineering and Maintenance on tooling, work holding, and manufacturing improvements.
Leading preventive maintenance initiatives and corrective actions.
Developing and updating operator work instructions and documentation.
Driving Lean Manufacturing initiatives and participating in continuous improvement activities.
Ensuring compliance with safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
