Job summary

Prince Industries seeks an experienced CNC Programmer who is self-directed and proficient in CAD/CAM, with hands-on machining expertise. The role focuses on programming and optimizing 3-5 axis VMCs and horizontal centers, interpreting drawings, selecting tooling, and scripting for production readiness across multiple facilities.

The ideal candidate will own projects from concept to production, travel up to 50% between six domestic locations, and collaborate with process engineers and operators

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience programming CNC machining centers.
• Proficiency with Mastercam and CAD/CAM tools.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerancing.
• Hands-on experience with 3-5 axis VMCs and HMCs.
• Ability to design fixtures and work holding concepts.
• Experience with probing cycles and Macro B programming.
• Self-directed with the ability to manage projects end-to-end.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers and machine operators.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, optimize, and validate CNC programs for 3-5 axis VMCs/HMCs using Mastercam.
• Interpret drawings/3D models to develop efficient machining strategies.
• Design and document fixtures, work holding, and tooling concepts.
• Select cutters and parameters based on material, tolerance, and machine capability.
• Support setup and prove-out on the shop floor; adjust toolpaths as needed.
• Utilize probing cycles/Macro B to automate setup and checks.
• Troubleshoot chatter, dimensional variation, and tool performance.
• Create setup sheets, tool lists, and process documentation.
• Collaborate across engineering, production, and quality for manufacturability.
• Drive process improvements for cycle time, tool life, and workflow.
• Assist Quoting with accurate cycle time and fixture costs.
• Create SolidWorks layouts for setups and datum references.
