Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a CNC Programmer/Operator to join our team. You will review specifications, program CNC mills, and set up equipment for production runs on the 2nd shift.

Strong mathematical skills and teamwork are required to ensure precision and efficiency on the shop floor. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of experience programming and setting up 3-axis CNC mills.
  • Experience with CAM software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze specifications from job orders, blueprints and drawings to determine dimensions and tool selection.
  • Program CNC machines using CAM software for precision and efficiency.
  • Set up and calibrate CNC equipment, ensure proper function before production.
  • Run trial simulations, adjust programs to minimize errors and improve accuracy.
  • Maintain safety standards, wear PPE, and keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Support other production areas as needed to keep operations smooth.

CNC Programmer/Operator
Are you ready to bring your CNC skills to a team that values precision and innovation? At Martin Sprocket & Gear, we’re dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence, and we're looking for skilled CNC Programmers/Operators like you!

What You’ll Do
  • Analyze specifications: Review job orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to calculate dimensions, select tools, and determine machine speeds.
  • Program CNC machines: Create and optimize CNC programs using CAM software to ensure precision and efficiency.
  • CNC setup & calibration: Set up CNC equipment, calibrate tools, and ensure proper machine function before production.
  • Trial runs & adjustments: Perform trial simulations, adjusting programs as needed to ensure accuracy and minimize errors.
  • Safety & cleanliness: Follow all safety standards, wear PPE for the duration of the shift while on the manufacturing floor, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Cross-departmental support: Assist with other areas of production as needed to ensure smooth operations.
What You’ll Bring
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.

  • CAM software: Experience with CAM software preferred.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of basic machining practices and mechanical processes.
  • Mathematics & communication: Solid math skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical details.

  • Physical requirements: Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Work ethic: Dependable with a commitment to high-quality, precise work standards.
Your Schedule
  • 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday, 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM
