Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer on 2nd shift in Moline, IL to program, set up, and optimize Mazak CNC machines for high-precision components.

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mazatrol for custom and low-volume parts.
  • Set up and operate Mazak Integrex and Mazak Mill to produce complex components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements.
  • Select tooling, determine machining processes, and establish efficient production methods.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and indicators.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy and ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machining issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes and cycle times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following quality and safety standards.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our 2nd shift team. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and optimizing Mazak CNC machines to produce high-precision custom components. The ideal candidate will have strong Mazatrol programming experience, a solid understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T, and a commitment to producing quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mazatrol for custom and low-volume precision parts.

  • Set up and operate Mazak Integrex and Mazak Mill machines to produce complex components.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements.

Qualifications
Required
  • Experience programming Mazak CNC machines using Mazatrol .

  • Hands-on experience with Mazak Integrex and/or Mazak Mill equipment.

  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.

  • Ability to set up and machine close-tolerance, precision components.

  • Experience performing detailed quality inspections using precision measuring equipment.

  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, and speeds.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize production requirements.

Preferred
  • Experience programming multi-axis CNC equipment.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.

  • Experience with process improvement and cycle time reduction initiatives.

  • Previous experience in custom machining, prototype work, or low-volume production.

  • Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent machining experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moline, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
