Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking a CNC Programmer 1 in Massachusetts to join the machine shop team. You will partner with the shop to program and set up CNC equipment and fabricate precision parts, reporting to the Operations Manager.

The role emphasizes programming for new products and updating existing programs, ensuring correct machine operations and timely adjustments. Ideal candidates have 2+ years CNC programming experience, formal apprenticeship completion, and proficiency in SolidWorks

Qualifications

• 2+ years CNC programming experience required.
• Experience in a machine shop environment with strong math foundations.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a CNC Programmer 1 at MKS, you will partner with the Machine Shop to programming and setting‑up CNC equipment to fabricate a variety of precision parts. In this role, you will report to the Operations Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Responsible for programming and setting‑up CNC equipment to fabricate a variety of precision parts
• This includes the programming of new products as well as updating existing programs
• Will ensure correct machine operations and will make program adjustments as required

Additional responsibilities related to supporting operations including Continuous Improvement Projects submissions, tool calibration program and flowchart creation etc.

• Minimal travel may be required

Skills you bring:

• 2+ years of CNC Programming experience required
• Required: machine shop experience, comprehensive knowledge and understanding of higher mathematics involved in the application of engineering principles and the performance of related operations, and completion of a formal apprenticeship program.
• SolidWorks and CAM experienced required
• Laser welding preferred
• Minimum travel may be required

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $25.88 - 43.13 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS.
