Job Summary
TheCNC Programmer is responsible for developing, editing, and optimizing CNCprograms for complex, close-tolerance aerospace and defense components. Thisrole works closely with engineering and quality teams to translate blueprintsand 3D models into precise, efficient machining processes, ensuring parts areproduced to specification, on time, and in full compliance with industry andregulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new CNC programsfrom engineering drawings, 3D models, and customer specifications for aerospaceand defense components.
- Create standard workinstructions to support setup of new and existing CNC programs.
- Apply prior experiencewith complex, close-tolerance parts and designs typical of aerospace/defensemanufacturing.
- Read and interpretblueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Select appropriatetooling and cutting parameters for a variety of machining operations andmaterials.
- Design and buildfixtures, workholding, and machining processes from customer-suppliedblueprints and models to program machines and produce parts to specification.
- Develop in-processinspection methods to ensure part quality and conformance throughoutproduction.
- Troubleshoot CNCprograms, diagnose root causes, and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate withengineering to resolve issues related to process design, tooling, or fixtures.
- Edit and convertexisting programs for use on different machine platforms.
- Develop and integratenew programming techniques and best practices to improve productivity, cycletime, and quality.
- Navigate and updatejob/part information within the MRP system.
- Maintain compliance withAS9100 and applicable ITAR/export control requirements throughout allprogramming and production activities.
Required Qualifications
- Prior work experience inthe aerospace and/or defense manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of CNCprogramming experience on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills.
- Hands-on experience with Mastercam or ESPRIT CAM software required.
- Ability to interpretmanufacturing work instructions and M.O.T. (Method of Turning/Method ofTraverse) sketches.
- Thorough understandingof CNC machine function and G-Code programming, including machine probing.
- Ability to workindependently while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Solid knowledge ofcutting tools, tool geometry, and standard machining practices.
- Ability to readblueprints and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Strong working knowledgeof Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, andPowerPoint.
- Ability towork independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellentverbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Regular,consistent, and punctual attendance is required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work isperformed in both an office setting and an active manufacturing/shop floorenvironment.
- Exposure tomachine shop conditions, including noise, moving equipment, and industrialmaterials; appropriate PPE required in designated areas.
- Ability tostand, walk, bend, and move throughout the production floor for extendedperiods.
- Occasionallifting of up to 15 lbs.
