Job summary

CMI Group in Phoenix, AZ seeks a skilled CNC Programmer to join our team. You will develop CNC programs, read blueprints, and work with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills, in an on-site setting.

The ideal candidate has aerospace experience, Mastercam proficiency, GD&T knowledge, and strong tooling skills. This mid-senior role offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, with ITAR compliance requiring US Citizenship or Permanent Residency.

Qualifications

• Aerospace experience is required.
• Minimum 5 years of CNC programming on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills.
• Experience using Mastercam.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing work instructions and sketches (M.O.T.).
• Thorough understanding of CNC machines and G-code, including probing.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
• Knowledge of cutting tools and standard machining practices.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop new CNC programs based on drawings and models.
• Create standard work instructions for setup of programs.
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Select tooling and cutting parameters for machining operations.
• Create fixtures and fixturing from customer blueprints.
• Develop in-process inspection plans to ensure quality.
• Troubleshoot CNC programs and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve process/fixture issues.
• Edit and convert existing programs for different machines.
• Improve programming techniques to enhance productivity and quality.

Annual Compensation range: $75,000 - $110,000

Location: On-site required in South Phoenix, 3617 E La Salle St. Phoenix, AZ 85040

Shift: Full time, exempt

Due to ITAR, all employees must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new CNC programs based on engineering drawings and models
• Create standard work instructions to assist with the setup of new programs and existing programs
• Prior experience working with complex parts and designs
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Choose appropriate tooling for machining operations with correct cutting parameters
• Ability to create fixtures, part-holding and machining processes from customer supplied blueprints and models to program machine & make parts according to specification
• Ability to create in-process inspection to ensure quality
• Trouble shoot CNC programs and implement process improvements
• Work with engineering to overcome any issues with process or fixtures
• Edit and convert existing programs for different machines
• Develop and integrate programming techniques that will enhance process productivity and quality

Basic Qualifications:

• The Ideal candidate should have prior work experience in the aerospace industry
• Minimum 5 years programming experience on 3, 4 and 5-Axis CNC Mills
• The candidate must have experience using Mastercam
• Ability to interpret manufacturing work instructions and M.O.T. sketches
• Must have thorough understanding of CNC machine function and G-Code language including machine probing
• Work independently while maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Must have knowledge of Cutting tools and Standard Machining practices
• Must be able read blueprints and understand GD&T
• Must have strong knowledge in various PC applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to spend up to 9 hours a day at a work station
