Qualifications

Electric Materials is looking to hire a skilled CNC Programmer to create and manage programs for all our CNC equipment.

Position Description

A CNC Programmer is responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and proving out a program and setup for all operators. The CNC Programmer will also be required to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the machining process.

To ensure success as a CNC Programmer, one should have extensive experience working in manufacturing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work unsupervised. Ultimately, a top-class CNC Programmer works quickly and efficiently, ensuring all products meet the specifications of the customer.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models
  • Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for each job
  • Adjusting machine settings to the desired product specifications
  • Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process
  • Training staff on machine and program setup
  • Working towards continuous improvement in all facets of the programming and manufacturing process
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to develop manufacturing plans for each product
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years machining experience in a CNC environment
  • Fluent with G-Code
  • Experience with Esprit or similar CAM software
  • Experience with Mazatrol
  • Ability to read and interpret design blueprints
  • Understanding of cutting tools and their attributes
  • Ability to select appropriate cutting tools for applications
  • Good math skills (Geometry and Trigonometry)
  • Teamwork skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Imaginative use of advanced machining concepts
Preferred Experience
  • 2-5 years experience with software such as Esprit, Mazatrol, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, FactoryWiz
  • Cutting Tool Training
  • SME certification
  • Experience with carbide manufacturing
