Innovated Machine & Tool Co., Inc. in Newport News, VA is seeking a full-time CNC CAD/CAM Programmer for our precision sheet metal fabrication facility.

The role focuses on creating and maintaining CNC programs, interpreting blueprints, and selecting machines and tools for efficient production. You will work with SolidWorks, CAMWorks, and nesting software to optimize run times, collaborate with client engineers, and prepare clear setup sheets and assembly guidelines while maintaining current

Qualifications

• Min 3 years working with programming CNC Punch Press for Sheet Metal Fabrication.
• Experience programming for CNC Laser is preferred but not required.
• SolidWorks, CAMWorks, and nesting software (SigmaNEST) experience required.

Responsibilities

Innovated Machine & Tool Co., Inc., has an immediate opening for a full time CNC CAD/CAM Programmer for manufacturing in a precision Sheet Metal Fabricating plant.

1st shift 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday

Job Description:

CNC Programming Specialist will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate CNC programs and current file revisions for client parts. Interpreting engineering blueprints to develop flat pattern layouts, collaborate directly with clients’ engineering teams, and reverse engineer parts to support manufacturing needs. This involves selecting appropriate machines, tools, and materials to ensure cost-effective production, as well as designing and coordinating procurement where needed. Furthermore, prepare detailed work instructions, including standardized set-up sheets and assembly guidelines, while utilizing CAD/CAM software to optimize run times and programming efficiency.

Job Duties include:

• Program and maintain current file revisions of all client parts;
• Interpret engineering blueprints to draw (program) flat pattern layouts of parts;
• Work with clients’ engineers;
• Reverse engineer parts for manufacturing;
• Make machine & tooling selections to manufacture parts in the most cost effective manner;
• Design and request procurement of tools necessary;
• Prepare detailed standardized work instructions and set-up sheets;
• Utilize CAD/CAM software to continuously improve run time and programming time.

Experience and Ability to work in a fast paced & customer service oriented environment is a MUST!

Requirements Include:

• Attention to Detail.
• Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and their applications.
• Critical Thinking to solve complex problems
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production & interpretation of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models, specifically for sheet metal fabrication.
• Knowledge of raw materials used in sheet metal fabrication, production processes, bend deductions, turret punch press tooling, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
• Time Management
• Dependability - Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and thoroughly completing all tasks.
• Persistence - Job requires persistence in the face of obstacles.Engineering – Engineering experience / background with strong mechanical aptitude is helpful.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Min 3 years working with programming CNC Punch Press for Sheet Metal Fabrication. Experience programming for CNC Laser also, is preferred but not required.
• Knowledgeable on various precision CNC machinery and principles, fabrication and machining practices, the properties of materials, and the application of mathematics and dimensions to production machinery and tooling.
• Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovation to economically solve production problems in a timely manner.
• Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• REQUIRED: Working knowledge of SolidWorks -you must have used this for sheet metal fabrication; CAMWorks; and a computerized nesting software preferably SigmaNEST.
• Ability to understand G Codes including ability to write, edit and troubleshoot production and technical issues.
