Job summary

American Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a CNC programmer for 1st shift to set up, program, and run CNC milling equipment to manufacture precision parts.

You will write programs in the machine controller language and store them for future use, collaborating with engineering on fixtures as needed. Qualified candidates have 5+ years of CNC milling experience, GibbsCAM proficiency, and strong GD&T/ blueprint reading skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC milling programming and setup experience.
• GibbsCAM programming experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Mazatrol and G-Code and blueprint reading.
• Ability to use micrometers and similar measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program and, if needed, run CNC milling equipment to produce parts.
• Write programs and store them on media such as disks or tapes.
• Analyze orders, drawings, and specs to determine tooling, speeds, and feeds.
• Generate instruction sheets and cutter lists for machine control.

Job description

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 1st shift opening. CNC mills and turning centers.
• CNC programmer will setup, program, and, if needed, run CNC milling equipment to produce parts and components.
• Utilize GibbsCam, Solidworks design software.
• Setup and program CNC mills; Mazak VTC, Mazak HMC, WIA (Mazatrol and G-Code) Work with Engineering on fixture design and implementation.
• Experience in CNC mill programming and setups, 5+ years.
• Mazatrol Experience Preferred Expert GD&T And Blueprint Reading Skills
• Experience with the use of basic machine measurement tools to verify setups; micrometers, snap gages, bore gages.
• Long term position, good benefits. $32-$40/hour.
• Experience in the above areas of at least 5 years.
• Starting wage negotiable-somewhere in the $32-$40/hour range.
• Write programs in the language of a machine's controller and store programs on media, such as punch tapes, magnetic tapes, or disks.
• Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, printed circuit board pattern films, and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
• Write instruction sheets and cutter lists for a machine's controller to guide setup and encode numerical control tapes.

OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in the above areas of at least 5 years.
• GibbsCAM programming experience.
