Accelera in Irvine, CA is seeking a CNC Programmer to design and refine Esprit-based programs for lathe and mill operations, ensuring parts meet exact specifications and stabilizing initial production runs.

You will collaborate with production engineers and machine operators on-site, establish machining strategies, tooling lists, setup sheets, and continuous improvements to reduce setup times and prevent errors.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Esprit programming software.
• Demonstrated experience in mill programming.
• Completion of a relevant trade school program, an Associate degree, or equivalent technical training in NC programming.
• Proven capability to execute production and technical tasks, typically acquired through previous professional experience.
• High school diploma or its equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Esprit CAM software to develop, adjust, and perfect CNC programs for lathe and mill operations.
• Establish machining strategies, fixturing, part setups, tool selections, and operational sequences.
• Draft comprehensive tool lists and setup sheets that clearly outline cutting paths and reference points.
• Enhance operational efficiency by identifying and implementing program improvements to remove errors or omissions.
• Assist machine operators during initial production runs to help ensure stable and consistent process outcomes.
• Participate in lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts by evaluating material and method changes.
• Stay current with industry advancements by engaging with technical literature and professional workshops.
• Provide cross-functional support to team members to help ensure overall departmental success.

Your Role as a CNC Programmer

• Design and refine CNC programs to ensure parts meet exact specifications while stabilizing initial production runs.
• Collaborate with production engineers, machine operators, and the broader manufacturing group to enhance process reliability and minimize setup durations.
• This position is based on-site, operating on a standard 1st shift schedule of 40 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in Esprit programming software is a mandatory requirement.
• Demonstrated experience in mill programming is required.
• Completion of a relevant trade school program, an Associate degree, or equivalent technical training in NC programming.
• Proven capability to execute production and technical tasks, typically acquired through previous professional experience.
• A high school diploma or its equivalent.
• A solid understanding of proper machine sequences, NC tooling, and optimal feeds and speeds.
• The ability to interpret, analyze, and apply information from complex technical manuals.
• The capacity to manage priorities, work with minimal supervision, and utilize continuous improvement methodologies.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience working with Mastercam software.
• Background knowledge in machine shop environments and the aerospace sector.
• Two years of professional experience in an NC Programmer capacity is preferred.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00 per hour.
