Job summary

NextDeavor is seeking a CNC Programmer to create and optimize programs for mills and lathes, ensuring parts meet specifications. You will collaborate with operators, production engineering, and the manufacturing team to reduce setup time and improve reliability.

The role is onsite in Irvine, CA, 1st shift (5x8 days) with a guaranteed 40 hours per week, health and related benefits for contract employees. Prior experience with Esprit and NC programming is required.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of related trade school program or AA; high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Esprit programming software is essential.
• Experience with mill programming is essential.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for mills and lathes using Esprit CAM software.
• Develop part setup, fixturing, machining strategy, order of operations, and tool selection.
• Prepare setup sheets and tool lists showing reference points and cutting paths.
• Suggest and implement program improvements and revise programs to eliminate errors.
• Support operators during first article runs and process stabilization.
• Analyze changes in methods and materials and participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain technical knowledge through workshops and technical literature.
• Assist the team with cross-functional tasks as needed.

Become a Key Player as a CNC Programmer

You will create and optimize CNC programs that enable the team to machine parts to specification and stabilize first-article production. You will work closely with operators, production engineering, and the manufacturing team to reduce setup time and improve process reliability. This is an onsite role on a 1st shift (5x8 days) schedule with guaranteed 40 hours/week.

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for mills and lathes using Esprit CAM software
• Develop part setup, fixturing, machining strategy, order of operations, and tool selection
• Prepare setup sheets and tool lists showing reference points and cutting paths
• Suggest and implement program improvements; revise programs to eliminate omissions or errors
• Support operators during first article runs and process stabilization
• Analyze changes in methods/materials and contribute to continuous improvement and lean activities
• Maintain technical knowledge through workshops and technical literature
• Support the team with cross-functional tasks as needed

Here’s What You’ll Need to Be Successful in This Role

• Experience with Esprit programming software (non-negotiable)
• Experience with mill programming (non-negotiable)
• Completion of related trade school program, AA, or equivalent training/exposure to NC programming
• Demonstrated ability to perform technical/production functions; typically gained through prior experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of NC tooling, speeds/feeds, and proper machine sequences
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals
• Ability to work with general direction, prioritize assignments, and apply continuous improvement methods

Here’s What Else Might Help You Out

• Experience with Mastercam
• Familiarity with aerospace industry and machine shop operations
• Two years of experience at the NC Programmer level (preferred)

Pay Range

$32.00 - $40.00/hour
