Aerotek is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support precision manufacturing of high-tolerance components in Fairfield, CA. You will develop and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis centers, interpret drawings, select tooling, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams.
Responsibilities include creating machining strategies, validating programs, supporting first article inspections, and driving process improvements to reduce cycle times and costs.
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to support a growing precision manufacturing operation producing complex, high-tolerance components. This position plays a critical role in developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for multi-axis machining centers while partnering closely with Machinists, Engineering, and Quality teams to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and ensure world-class product quality. Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam CAD/CAM software.
Create machining strategies for complex components on 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining centers.
Program and support horizontal machining centers, including pallet-changing systems.
Interpret blueprints, CAD models, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements.
Select tooling, fixtures, workholding, feeds, and speeds to maximize efficiency and tool life.
Simulate and validate programs prior to release to ensure accuracy and eliminate collisions.
Support first article inspections, new product introductions, and process validations.
Troubleshoot machining and programming issues, making improvements to cycle times, quality, and machine performance.
Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Create and maintain setup sheets, tooling documentation, revision control records, and machining standards.
Drive initiatives focused on reducing setup times, scrap rates, downtime, and overall manufacturing costs.
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
8+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
Advanced Mastercam programming experience required.
Strong experience programming 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining centers.
Proficiency reading blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T specifications.
Solid understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, workholding, cutting parameters, and process optimization.
Experience supporting prototype development, first article production, and production machining.
Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing software.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
Associate's Degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Machining, or related field preferred.
Experience with horizontal machining centers preferred.
Familiarity with SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar CAD platforms is highly desirable.
Experience working within AS9100, ISO 9001, aerospace, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

Our team-oriented environment focuses on safety, quality, and production. The work is conducted in a manufacturing/machine shop setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and standard shop conditions. The schedule is Monday-Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The role requires standing for extended periods with frequent movement.
This is a Permanent position based out of Fairfield, CA.
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
This is a fully onsite position in Fairfield,CA.
