TE Connectivity in Grayslake, IL, is seeking a CNC Operator to set up and operate CNC machines according to customer specifications. You will read blueprints, load materials, perform tooling changes, and ensure parts meet tolerances with precision measuring tools.

The role emphasizes safety, clean work areas, and collaboration with the Quality Control team to maintain production standards. This is a full-time, on-site position in a manufacturing environment.

Job Overview

Set up and operate a variety of CNC (computer numerical control) machine in order to produce products according to the customers’ specifications.

Job Requirements

• Perform basic CNC machinery set up functions by using preset program. Make minor adjustments to programs as needed.
• Understand specifications required to fabricate products by reading blueprint, mechanical drawings and other drawings and written material.
• Prepare and load materials onto the machine.
• Perform basic tooling changes, as needed.
• Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, thread gages, gage pins and tape measure.
• Conduct inspections during the production process to verify product meets specifications.
• Maintain productivity at levels that match or exceed production standards.
• Communicate with Cell Lead on all issues related to discrepancies on drawing or BOM.
• Responsible for following safety rules as well as using safe procedures.
• Keeping all tools and supplies in their work area put away in the appropriate location on a daily basis. Keep work area clean and organized.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Work closely with the Quality Control Department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What Your Background Should Look Like

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
• Basic ability to read blueprints/drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Mathematically literate.
• Communicate effectively. Ability to Read, Write and Speak English
• Knowledge of various types of equipment and processes such as:
• Air and power tools
• Rulers, tape measures and gages
• Ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous standing, moving and reaching with arms and hand.
• Frequently walks, bends, lifts and carries items.
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

• Work performed in a shop environment.
• Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, and odors.

Compensation

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $22.50 - $25.00/Hour (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
