Job summary

Preci Manufacturing in Winooski, Vermont is hiring a Production Manager to lead daily CNC machining operations and drive on-time delivery. The role requires hands-on leadership, scheduling, safety, and quality oversight to meet customer commitments.

You will guide a skilled team, collaborate with Engineering and Quality, and implement continuous-improvement initiatives to reduce delays and costs while maintaining a safe, productive workplace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; acceptable equivalent experience.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience, incl. 2+ in supervision.
• Experience in precision CNC machining or aerospace/defense manufacturing preferred.
• Experience scheduling high-mix, low-volume production across departments.
• Working knowledge of CNC operations, drawings, GD&T.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and drive accountability.
• Lean principles and data-driven productivity improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations across milling, turning, grinding, tool room, and related areas.
• Develop and manage production schedules and priorities based on due dates, capacity, and staffing.
• Direct supervisors to balance workloads, assign tasks, and monitor overtime.
• Monitor progress, WIP, material movement, and data accuracy in ERP system.
• Lead regular production meetings and promote accountability across departments.
• Identify and remove production bottlenecks related to equipment, staff, or materials.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, routings, and AS9100; partner with Quality on nonconformances.
• Develop KPIs and drive on-time delivery, throughput, and cost improvements.
