Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a CNC Production Manager in Huntersville, NC to lead daily two-shift CNC production and develop a 15-person team. You will balance safety, quality, efficiency and customer delivery while scaling operations as the company grows.

The role requires strong hands-on machining, ISO environment experience, and ERP/MRP proficiency. A technical education or bachelor’s degree is a plus and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on CNC machining background with mills, lathes, setup, and programming.
• Previous supervision or management of machining/production employees.
• Experience with production scheduling, staffing, machine capacity, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Experience in an ISO manufacturing environment.
• Computer proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and daily production use.
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety, KPIs, Lean, and 5S.
• Collaborative leadership with ability to delegate, train, and mentor.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily CNC production across two shifts, balancing safety, quality, and delivery.
• Manage and develop a team of about 15 production employees.
• Build production schedules and coordinate staffing, equipment, and workflow.
• Provide hands-on machining support and resolve production issues with quality staff.
• Delegate responsibilities and cross-train employees; document processes to build capability.
• Monitor KPIs and drive improvements in productivity, cost control, and shop organization.
• Support ERP tool adoption on the shop floor with barcode scanning and tablets.
• Evaluate equipment needs and justify investments; assist installation of new machinery.
• Partner with leadership to expand capacity and scale processes.
