Job summary

DRT Aerospace, LLC is seeking a skilled CNC Press Operator in Sidney, OH to set up and operate CNC press equipment and form high-tolerance aerospace components. You will work with aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and specialty alloys, reading blueprints and GD&T requirements to ensure precise results.

The role offers Day Shift (Mon-Fri) from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, overtime opportunities, and benefits including Day 1 benefits and 401K company match.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or CNC press equipment preferred.
• Manufacturing, production, assembly, machine operation, fabrication, warehouse, construction, or general labor experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, process sheets, and manufacturing procedures.
• Basic blueprint reading and drawing interpretation skills.
• Experience working to quality standards and production goals.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Understanding of sheet metal fabrication, metal forming, stamping, or tube bending processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC press equipment to form, bend, and shape precision aerospace sheet metal components.
• Operate stamping, forming, tube bending, and press equipment ranging from 5-ton to 150-ton presses.
• Load raw materials and remove finished parts from machines.
• Select, install, and align tooling, dies, fixtures, and machine settings to achieve required specifications.
• Form aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and specialty aerospace alloys while maintaining tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and work instructions.
• Monitor machine cycles to ensure quality, consistency, and production efficiency.
• Perform basic machine adjustments and support tooling changeovers.
• Conduct visual inspections and dimensional verification using calipers, micrometers, gauges, height stands, and other measuring equipment.
• Complete production documentation, inspection records, and quality reports.
• Identify defects and non-conforming product and support root cause and corrective action activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to improve processes and resolve production issues.
• Follow production schedules, quality standards, PPE requirements, and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and 5S-compliant work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

As a CNC Press Operator, you'll be responsible for producing precision-formed aerospace components while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

• Set up and operate CNC press equipment to form, bend, and shape precision aerospace sheet metal components.
• Operate stamping, forming, tube bending, and press equipment ranging from 5-ton to 150-ton presses.

What We’re Looking For

• CNC Press Brake, Press Operator, Stamping Press, Punch Press, Tube Bending, or Metal Forming experience.
• Aerospace, defense, automotive, or precision manufacturing background.
• Experience forming aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and specialty alloys.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards.
• First Article Inspection (FAI) experience.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) knowledge.
• Tool and die setup experience.
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma exposure.
• Knowledge of FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention.
• Forklift and/or crane certification.
