Job summary

Madsen Steel is seeking a skilled and dependable Press Brake Operator to join our metal fabrication team in Orland, Indiana. This role operates press brake equipment to bend and form steel components while meeting production schedules and quality standards.

You will read blueprints, inspect parts, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with Quality and Engineering to ensure customer specifications and continuous improvement goals.

Qualifications

• Experience operating, setup, and programming press brakes in a steel or metal fabrication environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Experience working in ISO or quality-driven manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend, form, and fabricate steel components per instructions and specs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and job travelers.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections and document results.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and part quality issues and report concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with Quality team to resolve non-conformances and ensure quality standards.
• Complete production, scrap, and downtime reporting accurately.
• Perform routine machine checks and basic preventive maintenance.
