Job summary

Madsen Steel in Orland, IN 46776 is seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to safely operate press brake equipment, bend and form steel components, and meet production schedules and quality standards. You will collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to ensure parts meet customer specifications.

You will read blueprints, set up machines, perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and help maintain a clean, safe workspace while supporting lean manufacturing and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Experience operating, setup and programming press brakes in steel/metal fabrication.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measurement tools accurately.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with quality inspections and corrective actions.
• CNC press brake experience preferred.
• Experience in ISO or quality-driven environments.
• Forklift or material handling experience or willingness to be trained.
• Trumpf or Accu-Press experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend, form, and fabricate components per work instructions and specs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders and job travelers.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections and document results.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and part quality issues and report concerns.
• Work with Quality to resolve non-conformances and ensure quality standards.
• Complete production, scrap, and downtime reporting accurately and timely.
• Perform routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance.
• Follow safety policies and PPE requirements.
