Freeman Enclosure Systems in Batavia, Ohio, is seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to join the Fabrication team. The role involves setting up and operating press brake machinery to bend sheet metal according to blueprints and work orders, ensuring accurate dimensions and tolerances.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, select proper tooling, program adjustments, and perform first-piece inspections.

Qualifications

• Operates press brake in manufacturing environments.
• Interprets blueprints, shop draws and specs.
• Understands bend allowances, deductions, angles, tolerances.
• Reads tape measures and performs basic shop math.
• Selects and changes press brake tooling as needed.
• Sets up and adjusts machinery for accurate parts.
• Maintains high attention to detail and quality.
• Performs measurements with inspection tools accurately.
• Uses hand and power tools safely.
• Follows written and verbal instructions.
• Shows reliability and teamwork in a fast-paced shop.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake to bend sheet metal per drawings.
• Read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders.
• Install tooling, dies, and punches per job requirements.
• Program and adjust press brake settings for correct bends.
• Measure and inspect parts during production.
• Use measuring tools like tape, calipers, protractors, gauges.
• Verify material type, thickness, and dimensions before starting.
• Perform first-piece inspections and adjust machines as needed.
• Operate CNC press brakes and modify programs when required.
• Handle, load, position, and unload sheet metal safely.
• Work with galvanized steel and other sheet metal gauges.
• Identify defects or machine issues and notify supervision.
• Maintain production and quality standards to meet deadlines.
• Perform basic machine cleaning and housekeeping.
