Job summary

Caterpillar's Solar division in Claremore, OK is seeking a precision machinist to set up, program, and operate CNC lathes and mills, interpreting engineering drawings and using micrometers and calipers to ensure quality. Overtime with shift differentials is offered.

The ideal candidate has extensive machining experience, familiarity with five-axis equipment, and the ability to modify programs and tooling while following complex instructions in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive machining experience.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to use calipers, micrometers, height gauges and depth gauges.
• Good working knowledge of math and basic trigonometry.
• Able to follow complex written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up/teardown of machine tools and load fixtures and tooling.
• Download programs from centralized database and implement changes to improve process.
• Load and unload parts and monitor quality via in-process inspection.
• Adjust machine offsets, monitor tools and index/change inserts as needed.
• Change tooling to improve process and keep work area clean and orderly.
• Read engineering routings and process drawings to guide operations.
