Job summary
Accelera is seeking a Controls Logic Engineer to own design, programming, and support for CNC and PLC-driven systems in large-scale machinery. You will work hands-on with Siemens, Beckhoff, and Fanuc platforms from concept to commissioning, and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver high-performance automation worldwide.
The role is based in Rockford, IL, with 2–3 years of automation experience preferred and travel to client sites as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven PLC programming proficiency on Fanuc, Siemens, or Beckhoff platforms.
- Solid maths background including geometry and vectors.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with HMI integration and interface development.
- Understanding of the product development lifecycle from design to support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- 2–3 years of automation or controls engineering experience.
- Willingness to travel for onsite commissioning and support.
Responsibilities
- Create, refine, and troubleshoot PLC/CNC control software.
- Update software across Siemens, Beckhoff, and Fanuc environments.
- Align control logic with motion systems, sensors, and actuators.
- Run validation tests and simulations to optimize efficiency.
- Produce technical documentation including user guides.
- Assist installation and commissioning at client sites.
- Identify and fix software or hardware malfunctions in field/lab.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver control solutions.
- Maintain safe, high-quality operating environments.
- Participate in process improvements to boost outcomes.
- Help meet project milestones and delivery schedules.
