Full Time Kansas City, KS, US

Salary Range: $22.00 To $24.00 Hourly

Are you passionate about working with your hands and transforming raw steel into precision-cut parts? Do you take pride in doing things right the first time? At Trinity Products, we’re not just cutting steel pipe — we’re shaping the backbone of America's infrastructure. And the best part? You’ll be part of a 100% employee-owned company where every shift you work is an investment in your own future. Exciting opportunity to operate our new CNC Pipe Profiling Machine. This is a 1stShift position (Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm) at our Kansas City location. As a CNC Pipe Profiling Operator, you'll safety set-up and operate a plasma pipe profiling system. The Operator loads and verifies approved cutting programs, positions and processes steel pipe, monitors machine operation and cut quality, verifies finished components against drawings and work instructions, and maintains accurate material and production records.

What You'll Do:
  • Safely operate, inspect, clean and perform operator-level maintenance on the plasma pipe profiling system.
  • Read and understand work orders, fabrication drawings, cut lists, mechanical drawings and other technical documents.
  • Verify pipe diameter, wall thickness, grade, length, identification, orientation and quantity before cutting.
  • Select, load, verify and execute the correct approved CNC cutting program for the assigned work order.
  • Verify machine setup and cutting parameters and make authorized adjustments to support safe operation and acceptable cut quality.
  • Use proper material-handling techniques and approved equipment to load, position, support and unload steel pipe and finished components.
  • Follow proper procedures for machine start-up, setup, operation and shutdown.
  • Ability to operate the CNC machine through its graphical interface; select, load, verify and execute approved cutting programs and make authorized process adjustments as required.
  • Monitor machine operation and identify abnormal cutting conditions, consumable wear, material movement or equipment problems.
  • Inspect finished components for dimensions, profiles, holes, bevels, markings and overall cut quality using appropriate measuring tools.
  • Maintain material identification and traceability throughout the cutting process and properly identify nonconforming material or parts.
  • Maintain accurate production, scrap, remnant and material-use records as required by company procedures.
  • Comply with all safety guidelines and protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualifications required.
  • 1-3 years of experience operating CNC, automated cutting, fabrication or similar industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings, mechanical documents, dimensions and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail with a quality- and safety-focused attitude.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn CNC and CAD/CAM machine interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of shop math, measurements, fractions, decimals and tolerances.
  • Ability to safely work around and handle large, heavy steel pipe using approved material-handling equipment such as an overhead crane.
  • Plasma cutting, pipe fabrication, structural steel, CNC profiling or similar automated fabrication experience preferred, but not required.
  • Analytical and math skills to understand drawings, verify machine parameters, measure dimensions and confirm part tolerances and quality requirements.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to develop a strong working understanding of machine operation, routine maintenance and consumable replacement.
  • Problem-solving and communication skills to identify and respond to drawing, material, quality, program and machine issues.
  • Ability to assist with training and improving the skills of new and existing qualified machine operators.
