Job summary

Qualified Staffing is seeking a CNC Lathe and Milling Operator in Swartz Creek, MI. This second shift position runs 3 PM–11 PM. Pay ranges from $18 to $25 per hour, with a $2 shift premium based on experience.

Responsibilities include operating CNC lathes and mills, reading blueprints, translating instructions into machine commands, and inspecting parts for accuracy. A high school diploma is required, with engineering coursework a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CNC operator with ability to read decimals.
• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with calipers and micrometers for precision measurement.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM and basic computer programming is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and mathematical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate CNC machines to drill, grind, and mill.
• Read blueprints and specify tolerances for production.
• Translate instructions into machine commands and load materials.
• Run tests to verify outputs meet specifications.
• Set machines for full cycles and supervise runs for quality.
• Inspect finished parts and ensure conformance to requirements.
• Maintain machines and perform daily checks.

Job: CNC Lathe and Milling Operator

Location: Swartz Creek, MI

Shift: 2nd shift 3 PM -11 PM

Pay: $18-25/hr., based on experience - plus 2.00 shift premium

Do you have experience doing setups onCNC Machines? Can you read decimals and use calipers and mics with precision? Our client in Swartz Creek, MI is looking for someone with an eye for detail and a mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
• Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
• Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
• Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
• Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
• Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
• Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
• Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality

Requirements:

• Proven experience as CNC operator - YOU WILL BE TESTED ON READING DECIMALS, USING MICROMETERS AND CALIPERS
• Skilled in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
• Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
• Good communication abilities
• High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus
