Job summary

The Gill Corporation is seeking a CNC Operator Trainee in El Monte, CA. This full-time role involves setting up and operating CNC machinery to shape metal parts to exact specifications, under supervision.

You will load programs, adjust feeds and speeds, change tools, and inspect finished pieces for conformance. Qualifications include clear English communication, ability to read drawings and tolerances, basic CNC concepts, and comfort with computer tools.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Understand drawings and ASME Y14.5 tolerances.
• Understand CNC machine programming concepts.
• Able to use computer-based software tools.
• CNC machining experience preferred (Titanium and aluminum).
• Must lift/push/pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
• SAP a plus.
• MS Office/PC proficient.

Responsibilities

• Review setup sheet and specifications to determine setup procedure and dimensions of finished work piece.
• Load control media or enter commands to retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions.
• Manipulate controls and index cutting tool to specified set point and start machine.
• Change cutting tools and location of work piece as per setup instructions.
• Measure work piece for conformance to specifications.
• Notify supervisor of discrepancies.
• Adjust machine feed/speed and change cutters when programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.
• Machine materials such as Aluminum, Titanium and other metals.
• Learn Brake shear, Deburr and Broach operations.
• Perform other essential duties as assigned.

The Gill Corporation is seeking a CNC Operator Trainee who under general supervision of an experienced CNC Operator or Supervisor, sets up and operates numerical control machine to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specifications by performing the following duties.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, they will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Reviews setup sheet and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished work piece.
• Loads control media such as disk, tape, or punch card, in machine control console or enter commands to retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions from database.
• Manipulates controls and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine.
• Changes cutting tools and location of work piece during machining process as specified in setup instructions.
• Measures work piece for conformance to specifications.
• Notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
• Adjusts machine feed and speed and changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.
• Machines materials such as Aluminum, Titanium and other metals.
• Learn Brake shear, Deburr and Broach operations.
• Other essential duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:
