Job summary

Safariland in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a skilled machinist for high-precision CNC milling and mold tooling. You will program, set up, and operate CNC mills, and fabricate tooling for development and production.

The role requires strong accuracy, ability to manage multiple machines, and collaboration with the tooling supervisor. Responsibilities include maintaining tooling, performing routine machine maintenance, and using CAMWorks/Solidworks to generate tooling paths.

Qualifications

• Create numerical control programs for machining tooling & parts using CAMWorks from Parasolid, STEP, IGES, Solidworks, and similar file types.
• Comfortable working with tolerances around ±0.0005.
• Program & run multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setup and operation of CNC milling machines.
• Manufacture mold tooling & fixtures for product development.
• Manufacture new mold tooling & fixtures for production.
• Maintain & repair current production mold tooling & fixtures.
• Operate manual vertical mills, lathes and other hand tools as needed.
• Track machine run time and tooling project progress.
• Ensure tooling requirements, dimensions and accuracy with tooling supervisor.
