Job summary

Safariland is seeking a skilled machinist to program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines to create mold tooling and fixtures for development and production. The position requires maintaining tolerances around +/-0.0005 and working with CAMWorks and SolidWorks files.

The role involves tool selection, setup, and concurrent operation of multiple machines, with routine maintenance and collaboration with the tooling supervisor to ensure dimensional accuracy and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience programming and operating CNC milling machines with CAMWorks/SolidWorks familiarity.
• Ability to work with tolerances of +/-0.0005 and read engineering prints.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate CNC milling machines for tooling.
• Manufacture mold tooling and fixtures for product development.
• Maintain and repair production mold tooling and fixtures.
• Operate manual vertical mills, lathes and hand tools as needed.
• Track run times and ensure tooling projects meet specifications.
• Coordinate with tooling supervisor to achieve required dimensions and accuracy.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment on daily/weekly/monthly schedule.
