Job summary

Astemo Ltd. in Georgia, USA is seeking a CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will follow operator instruction sheets, verify dimensions with gauges, assist tool changes, and help ensure quality and safety in a fast-paced plant.

This position requires a high school diploma, basic math, good manual dexterity, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. We value teamwork, adherence to 5S, and continuous improvement in pursuit of optimal takt times.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic math skills are required.
• Good reading and writing ability to follow work orders.
• Manual dexterity to operate machines safely.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Team orientation and willingness to follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Work according to operator instruction sheets and/or verbal instructions to effectively perform operations.
• Check products and/or component dimensions with use of various indicators and gauges as described in procedures or work instructions. Must be able to determine good or NG product.
• Assist in tool changes and changing of simple parts and fixtures.
• Visually and manually check for defects in product or workmanship.
• Where appropriate, input data daily to maintain charts and reports to support manufacturing, engineering, quality, material control, and sales.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area utilizing the 5S policy in all aspects of processes, procedures and daily activities.
• In all processes and functions, comply with work instructions and procedures to ensure manufacture of products, which conform to TS16949 and ISO14000 and customer quality standards.
• Must be aware of all hazardous conditions within a machining environment. Adhere to all safety rules and guidelines per the Astemo safety policy.
• Suggest and implement continuous improvement programs.
