Primary Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate automatic and CNC lathes, mills, or centerless grinders.
- Change tooling as needed.
- Operate 1 or 2 machines independently or 3 or more with assistance from another operator or automation.
- Assist in solving machining problems related to your machine.
- Inspect parts according to print specifications.
- Assist in training and supporting new operators.
- Read and modify CNC programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; related work experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, understand basic math (fractions and decimals), some knowledge of CNC programming and controls, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical requirements include standing for 6 hours, walking 2 hours, occasional bending, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, kneeling, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. Must be able to hear, see, distinguish colors, and work safely in a noisy environment with exposure to heat, dust, solvents, and oil. Must work safely in areas with lift truck traffic.
