Job summary

Ascential Technologies seeks a skilled machinist to operate manual mills and lathes during the 2nd shift, from 3:20pm to 1:50am, Monday through Thursday. You will follow work orders, set up machines, load stock, and inspect parts to ensure they meet customer and company standards.

The role requires strict adherence to safety procedures and comprehensive documentation of production and quality logs. Experience with measuring parts and following instructions is preferred to maintain repeatability

Responsibilities

• Operate mills and lathes by following instructions and reference points.

• Document actions and communicate irregularities between shifts.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues.
• Follow safety procedures and regulations.
• Contribute to production goals and add value where possible.

• Manual Mill/Lathe experience helpful
• Follows work instructions to maintain repeatability in quality parts.
• Follows Job orders to produce only the amount required
• Operates mills and lathes by following instructions, including zero and reference points.
• Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Follow quality standards to ensure parts are to the customer and company standards
