You will read job specs, set up equipment, verify dimensions with tape measures, and perform routine maintenance. Strong math, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Ability to read a tape measure with precision.
• Team player with good attendance.
• Detail-oriented with strong math basics.
• Able to read truck specifications documents.
• Able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Operates Fab Shop and Machine Shop machinery and equipment.
• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
• Positions work piece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.
• Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.
• Observes machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Measures work piece to verify accuracy of machine operation.
• Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece.
• Performs minor maintenance on machines and dies.
• Sets up and performs maintenance on fab and machine shop machines and performs burning work.
• Operates equipment needed to perform job and related duties as assigned by supervisor.

What you’ll do:

The CNC Operator position is responsible to utilize fabrication skills to such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punch to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.

• Operates Fab Shop and Machine Shop machinery and equipment
• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template
• Positions work piece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade
• Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine
• Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction
• Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation
• Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece
• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces
• Sets up and performs maintenance on fab and machine shop machines and performs burning work
• Operates any equipment needed to perform job and performs related duties as assigned by supervisor
