Job summary

V R Della Infotech Inc is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to support the Specialty Tooling Department. You will program, set up, and operate CNC milling machinery and manual tooling to produce die and mold components with high precision.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, measurement, and CAD/CAM skills to optimize processes. Team collaboration and continuous improvement are essential for on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in machine shop operations, CNC milling, or related precision machining work.
  • 2-5 years of CNC programming experience using Mastercam, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD/CAM software.
  • Proficient understanding of G-code, M-code, CNC setup, machining strategy, feeds, speeds, and cutting tool selection.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply good manufacturing practices and select appropriate tooling, work holding, and machining resources for die and mold production.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment and capable of inspecting work to tight tolerances, including 0.002 inches where required.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC milling equipment, including Okuma, Haas, Nidec, Toyoda, and manual machining equipment used to support Specialty Tooling production.
  • Create and maintain CNC programs using Mastercam, G-code, M-code, customer drawings, project communications, and approved design data.
  • Use AutoCAD Mechanical and Autodesk Inventor to create, modify, and support 2D and 3D tooling drawings, models, and related machining documentation.
  • Select cutting tools, fixtures, workholding methods, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies to produce die and mold components efficiently and accurately, in line with current practices.
  • Inspect machined components using micrometers, calipers, height indicators, machine probing and other precision measuring tools to verify conformance to specifications and required tolerances.
  • Monitor CNC machine performance and part quality; make mechanical, tooling, or program adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Support safe work practices, job safety requirements, and standard operating procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Coordinate with the team and supervisor to support production schedules, machine priorities, repair needs, and workflow continuity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce cost, improve unmanned machining performance, and strengthen overall machining reliability.
  • Assist with developing repair and machining processes that support timely completion of tooling needs.
  • Serve as a technical resource and training support for less experienced machinists when needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The CNC Machinist / Programmer supports the Specialty Tooling Department by programming, setting up, operating, and inspecting CNC-machined components used in die and mold production. This role is responsible for producing high-quality tooling components safely, efficiently, and on schedule across both manned and unmanned machining operations. The position requires strong technical machining knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to improve processes through collaboration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

8+ years of experience in machine shop operations, CNC milling, or related precision machining work.

2 5 years of CNC programming experience using Mastercam, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD/CAM software.

Proficient understanding of G-code, M-code, CNC setup, machining strategy, feeds, speeds, and cutting tool selection.

Demonstrated ability to apply good manufacturing practices and select appropriate tooling, work holding, and machining resources for die and mold production.

Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment and capable of inspecting work to tight tolerances, including 0.002 inches where required.

Strong math, blueprint reading, computer, communication, and decision-making skills.

Ability to troubleshoot machining issues, adjust programs or setups, and support continuous improvement activities.

Self-starter who can drive results, manage priorities, and work effectively with limited daily direction.

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.

Trade school, associate degree, technical certificate, or related machining/manufacturing training preferred.
