Job summary

Comlux America is seeking a CNC Operator in Indianapolis to produce aircraft components for VIP finishes. You will operate CNC machinery, load materials, and perform repeat setups while ensuring parts meet engineering drawings and FAA requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
  • 1–3 years CNC machining or CNC operating experience in manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, offsets, and inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines using approved programs.
  • Load/unload materials and parts with proper workholding.
  • Perform repeat setups including fixtures, tooling, and offsets.
  • Monitor machine operation for productivity and efficiency.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and dimensional verification.
  • Identify quality issues and elevate to leadership.
  • Make minor offset adjustments as required.
  • Verify parts meet specifications and maintain documentation.
  • Safely operate shop equipment and maintain a clean, safe environment.
  • Develop knowledge of FAA requirements and company procedures.

Role Description

The CNC Operator isresponsible for operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality aircraftcomponents and subassemblies for VIP aircraft completions. This role isexpected to work independently on established programs, maintain machineproductivity, and ensure all work is completed in accordance with engineeringdrawings, technical manuals, company procedures, and applicable FAAregulations.

Essential Job Functions
  • Operate CNCmachines using approved and established machining programs.
  • Load and unloadmaterials and parts while ensuring proper work holding and machine setupintegrity.
  • Independentlyperform repeat job setups including fixtures, tooling, and work offsets.
  • Monitor machineoperation to maintain continuous run time and production efficiency.
  • Performin-process inspections and dimensional verification using approved measuringinstruments and inspection tools.
  • Identify qualityconcerns, dimensional discrepancies, or machine issues and immediately stopproduction and elevate concerns to leadership.
  • Make minormachine adjustments including offset corrections as required.
  • Verify completedparts meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customerexpectations.
  • Maintain aaccurate documentation and ensure all work is completed in compliance with companyprocedures and quality standards.
  • Safely operateshop equipment and hand tools including saws, grinders, drill presses, andrelated machinery.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all department safetyprocedures.
  • Develop workingknowledge of company procedures, process specifications, IOPs, and FAArequirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned not specifically covered herein.
Minimum Qualifications,Education and Experience
  • High SchoolDiploma or GED required. Technical school or vocational machining trainingpreferred.
  • 1–3 years of CNCmachining or CNC operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Workingunderstanding of machining processes, tooling, offsets, and inspectiontechniques.
  • Ability to independently operate established CNC programs and perform repeat setups.
  • Ability to read,write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to readand interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
Required Skills andAbilities
  • Ability to workindependently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attentionto detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to followdefined manufacturing processes and approved procedures consistently.
  • Basic math skillsrelated to measurements, tolerances, and machining calculations.
  • Proficiency usingmeasuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Ability to safelyoperate shop equipment and basic hand tools.
  • Working knowledgeof computers and related software utilized by Comlux.
  • Willingness toobtain knowledge of FAA requirements, RSQM procedures, and manufacturingquality standards.
  • Ability to communicate in an assertive yet professional, motivating, and tactful manner.
  • Working knowledgeof lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
