A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Operator is a skilled professional responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines used in manufacturing processes. The role involves setting up machines, monitoring their performance, and ensuring that products are machined to the required specifications. CNC Operators play a crucial role in the production line, contributing to the efficiency and precision of manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up CNC machines for production runs by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, fixtures, and accessories.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the correct machine settings and adjustments.
- Load raw materials into the machine and initiate the machining process.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from specifications and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in operating CNC machines and related equipment.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality control procedures.
- Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Mazak Mazitrol for mill and/or lathe is big plus
- Forklift Experience is a plus
- Welding experience and/or certifications is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in CNC machining is preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and G-code is a plus
