Job description

Trillium Professional is seeking a CNC Set Up/Programming Machinist.

Pay rate is $35-39 per hour. Schedule is 1st shift, 6:30am-3pm.

Job duties:

1. Program CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam (X, 2023, or latest version).
2. Set up CNC machines (mills and/or lathes), including tooling, fixtures, and offsets.
3. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, GD&T symbols, and job travelers.
4. Perform first article inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
5. Make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
6. Monitor machines during operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
7. Maintain accurate documentation for setups, programs, and inspection results.
8. Troubleshoot machining and programming issues efficiently.
9. Collaborate with engineers, quality control, and other machinists to improve processes.
10. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and 5S standards.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist with Mastercam programming experience.
• Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code.
• Proficient in setup and operation of CNC milling and/or turning machines.
• Experience with HAAS, Fanuc, Okuma, or Mazak machines preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• High attention to detail and quality.
• Capable of working independently or in a team environment.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

• Experience with 3-, 4-, or 5-axis machining.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and digital work instructions.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
