Howmet Aerospace in Winsted, CT is expanding its precision parts shop. If you’re energized by hands-on work and want to master CNC equipment—rotary and surface grinding—this entry-point role is your path to learn.

The position offers starting pay $21/hour with shift differentials and a sign-on bonus, plus benefits and 401K match. You’ll learn to set up CNC machines, record data, and maintain 6S and EH&S policies as you grow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED as minimum
• 1–2 years’ machine operation experience preferred
• Able to read blueprints, drawings and specifications
• Confident with measuring tools and recording data

Responsibilities

• Set up, run, and care for at least one CNC process machine (rotary, surface grinder, etc.)
• Perform fast, accurate machine set-ups and wheel changes to standard times
• Record productivity, utilization, scheduling, and quality data; maintain logs
• Complete in-process inspection to meet quality requirements
• Maintain 6S housekeeping and end-of-shift cleanup
• Update visual control boards and hourly charts in real time
• Support continuous improvement and follow EH&S policies
